5 Ways to Celebrate the Holidays with your Little

We want to help you make the holiday season as special as if can be for your Little. Here are a few ideas for activities you can do together, which can become annual traditions he or she won’t forget.

1. Holiday Lights Tour
Check out some holiday lights together. Visit the classic Allentown Lights in the Parkway or take your own tour by following The Morning Call’s/Bill White’s Christmas Lights tour which tells you where the best decorated homes in the Lehigh Valley are. See highlights from last year’s tour here.

2. Make a Photo Book
Take a look back at the past year with your Little by making a photo book of all the pictures you took together during your activities. Go the classic route and print out your photos to place and decorate in a scrapbook or visit sites like www.shutterfly.com or www.snapfish.com to put together online.  (Make sure to check Groupon this time of year to find any deals available.)

3. Decorate your Ugly Sweaters for the Big and Little Holiday Party
Get together with your Little and plan out your Ugly Sweaters for the Big and Little Holiday Party on December 9. See how creative you can get, keeping in mind that prizes will be handed out for the following categories: Best Match, Most Festive, Ugliest, Most Creative, and Most Colorful.

4. Spread Holiday Cheer
Activities like making cards for military service members or folks in a nursing home, or baking cookies to give to a neighbor, help spread holiday cheer, but also teach your Little how to think of others and encourage them to take the perspective of another. Cards can be donated to Operation Gratitude or stop by a local nursing home with your Little to drop cards off to their front desk.

5. Start to think about 2018
It’s never too early to start to think about the year ahead and what goals you can help your Little accomplish in 2018. Talk with your Little about what they really liked in 2017, and what the two of you could tackle together in the year ahead.  You can have a conversation or use an organizer to help you write some things down. Check out this goal sheet or this resolution planner.
