ASE Program to continue through 2021 school year

Are you interested in making a positive difference in a child’s life? Do you enjoy Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math? Then consider becoming a volunteer for the After School Enrichment Program!

BBBSLV is excited to announce that the After School Enrichment Program will continue in the 2020-2021 school year! We are looking for volunteers (adult, college or high school) who are interested in working with elementary school students, helping them to further their understanding of STEAM concepts (Science, Technology, Art, Engineering and Math) while participating in hands-on projects, activities and games.

What do we do?

Each week, Mosser Elementary School students ranging from 1st grade to 5th grade join BBBSLV staff at the Youth Mentoring Center where they work on homework, receive individualized math instruction via the DreamBox application as well hone their problem solving and critical thinking skills through a variety of STEAM-focused projects. Students have worked with volunteers to create their own Kaleidoscopes, engineer a floating Lego boat as well as practice being a scientist through fun science experiments. Through this program, Littles are able to engage in fun, hands-on projects while also exploring the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math with the help of a role model and mentor (someone just like you!).

Where and when?

If you are interested in STEAM and would like to make a positive impact on a local Mosser Elementary School student, please consider becoming a volunteer for our After School Enrichment Program! Volunteers, Littles and BBBSLV staff meet every Thursday from 3:30pm-5pm at our BBBSLV Youth Mentoring Center.
