of the Lehigh Valley requires that each prospective volunteer
be carefully screened prior to acceptance into the program.
The safety of both prospective volunteers and clients
is at the core of our existence. As part of our screening
process, each prospective volunteer will provide three
references, and backgrounds will be investigated through
the PA Act 34 Clearance (criminal history check) and PA
Child Abuse History Clearance.
The Agency will conduct
the Act 34 check electronically, and each candidate
will be asked to submit the application for the PA Child
Abuse History Clearance. There is no cost to the prospective
volunteer. The volunteer will receive the results of
the PA Child Abuse History Clearance at his/her home,
and must provide the original copy to the Agency when
it is received.
